3 Day Birmingham Cardiac Diet – Quick Weight Loss Diet

Here is the Diet Menu:

DAY 1

Breakfast

Tea or coffee (no cream or sugar)
1/2 a grapefruit
1 tbsp peanut butter
1 piece of toast

Lunch

Tea or coffee (no cream or sugar)
1/2 cup tuna
1 piece of toast

Dinner

3 ounces of lean meat
1 cup carrots
1 cup string beans
1 apple
1 cup ice cream

DAY 2

Breakfast

Tea or coffee (no cream or sugar)
1 egg
1 piece of toast
1/2 a banana

Lunch

Tea or coffee (no cream or sugar)
1 cup cottage cheese
5 saltine crackers

Dinner

2 beef franks
1 cup broccoli
1/2 cup carrots
1/2 a banana
1/2 cup ice cream

DAY 3

Breakfast

Tea or coffee (no cream or sugar)
5 saltine crackers
1 ounce cheddar cheese
1 apple

Lunch

Tea or coffee (no cream or sugar)
1 egg (hard-boiled)
1 piece of toast

Dinner

1 cup tuna
1 cup cauliflower
1 cup beets
1 cup melon
1/2 cup ice cream

Are You Kidding Me?

Any diet that recommends hot dogs (beef franks) and ice cream every night does seem very scientific to me. This is just another fad diet that may cause some weight loss because of low calories.

The problem is that any weight you lose during these three days you will gain right back once you resume your normal diet. As you may have experienced, that's the case with all crash diets.

If you want lasting weight loss, you should leave the 3 Day Birmingham Cardiac Diet for patients scheduled for surgery.
